The eagerly anticipated follow up to their smash debut release on transparent vinyl.
Record/Vinyl + Digital Album
Mexico City's Mengers released what many consider one of the most crucial records of the pandemic. A dark, angry, brooding record that at times came off as a bit unhinged and chaotic--which seemed all very normal to us out here in the real world as we sat all by our lonesome.
What made "GOLLY" so damn great was that if you listened closely enough you could hear how the songs rested on a fury of rock rhythms with pop sensibilities. The songs stayed with you and never really left you hanging.
On their follow up, I/O, we hear the band further exploring and expanding on the evolution they started back in 2020. This time around it's more about inflection points--thoughtful and experimental-- but with the same engaging and in your face approach. It's all here--the sing-a-along melodies and stage diving soundtracks--which continues the band's glorious arc of sound. Count us in for the front row.
